This little announcement is specifically for Summit goers or those listening to the Summit Podcast each week. Based off your feedback on our last set of sermon-based small group discussion guides, we have made some changes to the guide. The guide is available here on the sermon discussion guide page listed above. We are committed to providing the best and most effective resources possible to our SummitLIFE groups. So, this is our latest shot at it. Changes / updates include:
Accessibility: Available in your worship guide each week
Depth: Studying 2 or more passages that compliment sermon passage
Prayer: A short prayer guide will be included each week
Intro: Week 1 includes a brief note on sermon-based groups, bible doctrine, and an overview of the book of Proverbs.

This week marks the end of our “Believe” sermon series at the Summit Church. Our small groups team would like your feedback on the sermon discussion guides we printed to go along with that series. We are trying to make these guides as useful and helpful as possible to our small groups. This week’s discussion guide is a little different than our normal one. We have added in a timeline of sorts on the recent history of the Summit Church. We want you and your group members to use that as a chance to also reflect on where God has brought you and how He is challenging you to believe him for what is going on in your life right now. Enjoy.
Below is the discussion guide for the sermon coming this Sunday. we are jumping into Philippians 4, the final study in our walk through philippians. We look forward to your feedback!
Ok gang, normally below I would link you to a discussion guide based on the sermon that is coming this Sunday. However, we have a unique Sunday coming at each of our campuses that will lead to a somewhat varied discussion depending on which campus you attend…The suspense is killing you I know!! So, here is what you can count on and prepare for. And for those of you who never click on the link to download the discussion guide, Im putting it right here for you:
Sermon Text: Philippians 2:12-18
Key theme: How are you living out the gospel in a way that others notice it?
So here is the cool thing, though all four campuses will be working through the same text & theme, each will likely come away with some unique things that the others dont. So here is my challenge to you: Contact your group today and tell them to take serious notes this Sunday during the sermon. Also challenge them to meditate on the text for a little while (see this post by one of our small group coaches for more on that) before you gather.
Here are a couple of questions to get your group started, but you may not need them. This should be a cool note & thought sharing week combined with a good time in prayer over what you learned.
- What was the most impactful thing you came away with from the sermon and/or your study of Philippians 2?
- How could your life proclaim the gospel in a way it hasnt to this point? I know this is an introspective question, but go for it. This is the application. you could even ask “what do you want us to hold you accountable for when it comes to showing off Jesus in your life?”
Below you will find the sermon discussion guide for this coming sunday’s sermon on Philippians Chapter 2. Warning: because I am still adjusting to the mac, the document is not in pdf but in word format. I should have the kinks out by next friday for you. Warning 2: this week we cover ALOT of stuff. I strongly encourage you to look over this guide for a good amount of time before jumping into the discussion with your group.
